These results are from one of the company's high-priority regional prospects.

Nighthawk Gold Corp. (NHK:TSX.V) announced in a news release results from eight more holes drilled over 2,328 meters (2,328m) at its Treasure Island gold project. Assay results are pending for the last nine holes of the total 19 drilled this year at Treasure Island, which sits on Nighthawk's Indin Lake property in Canada's Northwest Territories.

The company noted that recent results showed that drilling intersected broad mineralization zones containing higher-grade intervals, much like ones reported before. The intercepts are a "positive sign for continued exploration success as Nighthawk looks to advance this target in the coming years," the release noted.

As for specific assays, hole T19-02 hit an upper portion of 6.5 meters (6.5m) of 10.08 grams per ton (10.08 g/t) gold, including 4m of 15.94 g/t gold. Deeper, the hole hit 22.4m of 1.27 g/t gold, including 6m of 3.04 g/t gold.

Hole T19-02B intersected 22.25m of 2.83 g/t gold, including 8m of 6.01 g/t gold. Hole T19-04 returned 26.5m of 1.36 g/t gold, including 6.55m of 3.44 g/t gold.

Drilling thus far at Treasure Island continuously traced the Main zone for more than 400m along strike, from surface down to at least 200m where it remains open. Also, the system remains open to the east and west.

"We consider regional prospects like Treasure Island that display excellent gold grades and mineralized widths as key components for strengthening any potential Colomac mining scenario," President and CEO Michael Byron said in the release. Treasure Island is 11 kilometers north of the Colomac project.
