The Vancouver-based explorer has the second half of its planned drill campaign there yet to go.

Defense Metals Corp. (DEFN:TSX.V; DFMTF:OTC; 35D:FSEQB) announced in a news release that it has intersected rare earth elements (REE) mineralization in every hole of the current program drilled so far at its Wicheeda deposit in British Columbia.

Of the 13 core holes planned for the property, the company has drilled eight so far, covering 1,165 meters.

The exploration work is helping the company better understand Wicheeda's geology. Drill core, historical and current, indicated the "presence of multiple phases of REE-mineralized dolomite-carbonatite, one of which contains a visually higher percentage of REE-bearing minerals," the release noted.

Once drilling is completed and all the results are in, Defense Metals will assess the impact of these REE mineralized areas and how they might increase the Wicheeda mineral resource estimate.

"Our 2019 resource definition drilling will allow for an updated and enhanced geological model that Defense Metals believes will substantially increase our confidence in the contained REE mineral resources of the Wicheeda rare earth deposit," President and CEO Craig Taylor said in the release.
